Angela has been working in Responsible Sourcing and sustainable development for the last 20 years. She started her career working for global NGO’s implementing programs that support the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, India, Honduras, and Haiti. Angela started the ethical trade social enterprise, Partner Africa, headquartered in the UK, with offices in Kenya, South Africa, Egypt and the USA. Angela worked on responsible sourcing programs for over 50 global brands and retailers, delivering social compliance services across Africa and the Middle East. Angela has also worked as an independent consultant with projects such as with AIM Progress, where she supported some of the largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods Companies (FMCG), to map their progress in responsible sourcing, and with APSCA, the Association of Professional Social Compliance Auditors where Angela took the role of interim Executive Director. She has also consulted for Nike, SEDEX, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, Sphaera, LULEA, and the Clinton Global Initiative. Angela has sat on advisory groups for key trade associations; Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, UTZ, SEDEX, Ethical Trading Initiative, AAFA, and the Global Social Compliance Program. Angela was a guest lecturer on responsible sourcing at Portland State University for the Department of Supply Chain Logistics and Management. Angela holds a Master’s Degree in International Development with Economics. She currently resides in Portland, USA.
