Sanjiv Singh embarked on his journey in CSR in 1998, leveraging his background in agriculture and labor-intensive industries, including managing tea plantations in India. This experience ignited his deep interest in international labor standards and sustainable business practices. Over the years, he has conducted and shadowed social audits for globally recognized frameworks such as SA8000, amfori BSCI, RSPO, and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, spanning regions like the Far East, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
A seasoned trainer, Sanjiv has equipped auditors since 2003 with the technical and ethical competencies needed for SA8000 and amfori BSCI audits, helping to elevate standards in the field. His advisory work with the Federal Government of the UAE underscores his expertise, where he guided the government in aligning the Labor Inspectorate’s functions with ratified ILO Conventions. He trained Labor Inspectors and played a pivotal role in developing the Smart Inspection System—a risk-based approach to labor inspection that has modernized oversight practices in the UAE.
Sanjiv has contributed significantly to technical frameworks, authoring key documents and developing training material for the SLCP, Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council Standards. His technical expertise extended to APSCA, and he has developed APSCA recognized CPD courses. With a proven track record of auditing, consulting, training, and presenting at global sustainability conferences, Sanjiv brings a wealth of experience, a global perspective, and technical proficiency that are invaluable to organizations committed to sustainability, ethical practices, and compliance. Based in Dubai, he holds an MA in Economics and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu, enabling him to work effectively across diverse cultural and professional contexts.
